The Monsoon Chase! - 2 weeks / 14 days...
Make a trip during the torrential rain season to Kerala and be there to witness the world's most dramatic annual meteorological event! Book a Monsoon package between 15,June to 15, September and refresh yourself in the invigorating and rejuvenating monsoon rain. The schedule follows:
Day 1
Arrive at Calicut international airport and transfer to Wayanad. Spend the night at leisure.
Day 2
Feel the monsoon at the banks of River Kabanai. Go for a rain walk at the Kuruva Island in the morning- a drizzly afternoon visit to Tholpetty wildlife sanctuary…
Day 3
Sight seeing. Places of interest- Edakkal caves, Urvau, Muniyara, Jain temple. Transfer to calicut. Overnight stay listening to the music of mizzle at Kadavu resort.
Day 4
View the monsoon showers over river Chaliyar. Visit CVN Kalari (martial art training centre), Beypore Fort, Kappad beach etc. Stay overnight at the resort.
Day 5
Transfer to the banks of river Nila to view how the sprinkling sky give way to teeming downpour, check in at resort river retreat. Enjoy rains while undergoing a gracious Ayurvedic health massage in the afternoon.
Day 6
Visit Kerala Kalamandalam, Punnathoor elephant sanctuary (to see over 50 temple elephants of Kerala mellowing near the puddles). Overnight at river retreat.
Day 7
Visit Athirappally waterfalls. Afternoon departure towards Cochin. Evening at Cherai beach resort to witness cloud-formation and rain pour over the sea. Overnight at Cherai beach resort.
Day 8
Going out on a rainbow-morning for sight seeing in and around Cochin. Visit places of interest - Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis' Church, Chinese Fishing Nets, Hill Palace Museum, Willingdon Island and Museum of Kerala History. Stay overnight at Bolgatty palace, Cochin.
Day 9
Transfer to Veegaland amusement park. Veegaland is the most loved amusement park in Kerala. Situated almost above 300 feet above the sea level, Veegaland prides itself as an amusement spot with unmatched quality standards, impeccable service and excellent rides. Return to hotel Bologatty palace. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 10
After breakfast, transfer to Kumarakom Bird sanctuary, sight seeing in and around Kumarakom. Accommodation at Kumarakom lake resort or hotel Taj, while nature shows its glory outside.
Day 11
Board a luxury houseboat to view the beautiful choppy backwater stretches of kerala dancing to the tunes of monsoon zephyr. Sight seeing through the narrow canals enroute to Alappey. Overnight at the houseboat
Day 12
Continue your cruise through tranquil water beds. Enjoy the heavenly ambience of caravan style living inside the eco-friendly floating inns.
Day 13
Check out from the houseboat. Transfer to Marari beach resort, the beautiful sea side destination which offer some of the most sublime views of Arabian Sea. Surrender yourself to Golden beaches, under the immense beauty of rain.
Day 14
Check out from Marari beach resort, transfer to airport
