It was like a backwater festival, in every sense of spirit. Pomp but serene, simple but colorful, merry but sober. The slow rhythmic waves of the waves, and the colourful shades of the evening sky gave a natural grace to the occasion. As the minister for tourism, Kerala, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan click-started www.trueguideasia.com , on board the wonderful conference hall of Jalasamrat, a state-of-the-art house boat in the back waters of Vembanat Lake, Alappuzha, it was a big dream came true.The website, a yearlong effort by the dedicated team was there for all to see and appreciate. The hundred strong invited audience, from different parts of Kerala and abroad witnessed the inaugural ceremony and enjoyed the evening cruise on board the houseboat.
"This is for the first time in life I deliver a lecture on water,"said the eminent orator and writer Dr. Sukumar Azhicode, in his true witty style "and I really enjoy this wonderful experience." Dr. Azhicode was delivering the inaugural speech of the ceremony. "I wish this website would be a window to the world featuring the real nature and beauty of Kerala." He added. Obviously, Dr Azhicode was bowled over by the beauty of the backwaters and the ambience in the houseboat, that he accepted TrueGuide Asia's invitation to spend a night in the houseboat as their guest. "I slept well and sound last night," he recollected next morning. "The waves gently rocked me to sleep and I could here the sounds of silence. A night in the back waters will work wonders on you." Dr.Azhicode said.
The State Tourism Minister, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also was a very happy man after the water cruise, that he vowed he will sure make a visit to Alappuzha to spend a night with his family in the house boats. Launching the website he wished trueguideasia all the success and appreciated the team's effort in the tourism circle.
The True Guide Asia handbook on Kerala Tourism was released on the occasion by Mr.Viswambharan, District Collector, Alappuzha by handing over a copy to Mr. Nasar, The District Panchayath Preisident, Alappuzha. Holiday Panchabhoota, True Guide Asia's exclusive travel package concept and the logo was released by Cherian Philip, the Chairman, Kerala State Tourism Development Corporation, amidst cheers and applause.
Earlier the guests were ushered in to the conference house boat, Jalasamarat, with the accompaniment of Panchavadyam, the traditional percussion performance using five different types of instruments by a team of gifted artists. The prayer song was recited by the upcoming cine artiste, Miss.Saranya. Many illuminaries including Mr K C Venugopal, MLA of Alappuzha and Mr. P. P Chitharanjan The Municipal Chariman of Alappuzha, Mr. Jayaraj Varier and Mr. Tomi J Pulickkattil blessed the ceremony. A big crew of visual and print media journalists was also on board to capture the special occasion. The inaugural function was followed by a great solo performence 'Jayaraj varier show' by the gifted stage entertainer Mr. Jayaraj varier.
